HAWKESBURY RACE 2 – 12:25 AEST
- RUBY TUESDAY ($4.40)
Fairly open affair here, but Ruby Tuesday gets the nod from me. She finished close up in her two opening runs this prep, both coming from the rear in impressive style. Last start, she changed her tact and led from the get-go, which proved to be very successful. She scored by 2L to Mightybeel, with a further space back to third. Looks a good chance here again.
- WHIPCRACKER WAY ($4.40)
The lightly raced Whipcracker Way looks to have plenty of talent, which was certainly on display last prep, where he scored three consecutive wins to kick off the prep. He looks to be a horse that races well fresh, so I’m confident he’ll be ready to go here. Looks a great chance if he returns well.
- CHARLEISE ($4.00)
Charleise is another in-form horse - he scored by 3 lengths last start at this track over Zoumanor and Squami when well backed. The start prior, he was terribly unlucky, missing the start and strung up in traffic to miss by a nose. Expecting another good performance here.

HAWKESBURY RACE 4 – 13:35 AEST
- BROWN THOMAS ($12)
Yangtze Rapids was finally able to score a maiden win last start, having gone under numerous times as a short priced favourite. I’m keen to bet around him here, and Orange Cup winner Brown Thomas looks value. He scored a brilliant win last start in the Orange Cup, winning by over 4 lengths over Lord Tropicana. He relished the step up in distance, and while he’s back to 1800m here, I still think he’ll run well. Looks a great chance at odds.
