- KORDIA ($4.00)
Kordia has really stepped up his performance in the past two starts, finishing under a length away two back, before winning at big odds last start at Kembla Grange. He is up in class here, but the field doesn’t look to be high quality. He will find himself toward the rear here, but should get some assistance from Regal Stage & Bigboyroy, who should set a hot tempo in front. Look for Kordia late.
- HERESY ($2.65)
Looks an interesting field here, with plenty of up & comers, however, I’m siding with one of the more established runners in Heresy. This consistent filly has scored just one win in her short four-run career, but has yet to finish further than half-a-length away. She’s had excuses in each of her runs and has shown she is more than capable at this level. Should go well here again.
- GENERAL BEAU ($3.50)
Giving General Beau one more go here, after two solid, yet disappointing runs to begin the prep. First up, he settled on pace but was no match for Ingratiating. He then followed that up with a fifth last start (although just 1.25L away), where he led but was just no match late again. Drops to 1000m here, which may be more suitable.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- REALM OF FLOWERS ($19)
Realm Of Flowers no doubt has further in mind this prep, but she is certainly impressive and will no doubt use last start as a launching pad for this. She sat at the rear of the field & didn’t make up much ground, but was clearly unsuited and will be much better at this distance. Second up last prep, she finished a narrow second (albeit easier grade) & she can do similar here today. Will need some luck from the draw and the pace will need to be strong.
