BLUEY’S BEST
- RAINBIEL ($2.40)
Has been ultra impressive so far in her short career. She finished third in both starts in her debut prep, but clearly returned a better horse after being spelled. Her two runs back this prep have been brilliant, winning both in dominant fashion. She scored by 2.75L last start at Kyneton and now gets a chance up in grade. Will find this tougher, but looks up to it.
- FITUESE ($2.70)
Talented horse who has now won six from nine. Will prove very tough to beat here after scoring a brilliant win on resumption against the talented Masked Crusader. She sat last at the 400m mark but was able to put in a strong sprint to blouse them. She can improve off that run and should be more prominent here, making her even harder to beat.
- SHE’S IDEEL ($4.20)
Finally lived up to her potential last start, sitting last for most of the race before putting in an impressive win to score a narrow win. She seems to get better over further as shown by her win last prep over 2400m, when she came from nine lengths back to score a narrow win over Dark Pearl, with a gap of six lengths back to third. Will find this harder, but can go on with it here.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- JUNGLE EDGE ($16)
With the rain expected, I have to put Jungle Edge in as my value play, as he’ll no doubt be backed prior to the race should the rain come. He’s a rare horse that improves the wetter it gets and with the expected downfall possibly leaving the Caulfield track a Heavy 8, he’s certainly one to include. He brings some solid form into this as well, having finished just four lengths away at Group 1 level last start. If the rain comes, he’s right in this.
