BLUEY’S BEST BETS – 17/08/2019
RANDWICK – RACE 6 1800m 15:00 AEST
WOLFE ($3.00)
Wolfe certainly knows how to win (5: 4-1-0) and the Gelding can continue on his winning ways here. Has not raced since May, but has been tuned up with multiple barrier trials since that run. Should get to the front fairly easily from barrier 7 and prove tough to get past in the straight.
RANDWICK – RACE 7 1400m 15:40 AEST
WREN’S DAY ($2.70)
Overseas import who is having his first run in Australia for the Godolphin camp. Overseas form looks extremely strong, including a second in a Group 1 race at Longchamp. Might be better over further, but has won at a similar distance before. Trialled well at Rosehill and could be far too classy for them first up.
CAULFIELD – RACE 8 1400m 16:40 AEST
MYSTIC JOURNEY ($2.00)
This talented mare has gone from strength to strength in recent times, winning the G1 Australian Guineas before taking out the inaugural All Star Mile when sitting three-wide. I doubt she will be fully tuned up for this, but with a number of other runners resuming also, this looks like another winnable race for her.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
CAULFIELD – RACE 7 1200m 16:00 AEST
KEN’S DREAM ($26.00)
This looks like a decent race with the talented Begood Toya Mother resuming from a spell, however Ken’s Dream appeals at odds. Was racing well in some quality races at the beginning of last year, but only had the one run in the subsequent spell (ran 2nd). Resumed last start and impressed, finishing only 2.5L from Oak’s Door at Group 3 level. Can give this a shake at odds.
