Royal Randwick plays host to the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes this Saturday where Chris Waller’s superstar, Winx, will go around at short odds in the 1600m weight-for-age feature. She was simply sensational in her first up run last start in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes a fortnight ago. She’ll be fitter for the run and will sure to be the anchor leg of multis this weekend for punters around the country.
Trying to knock the mighty mare off will be a host of Group 1 winners including Caulfield Cup winner Mongolian Khan ($13), Turnbull Stakes winner Preferment ($71) and John O’Shea’s Sydney Cup winner Hartnell ($7). All will be kicking off their autumn campaigns and will be looking to be running on late.
