Ballarat R8
Octabello was just beaten by his stablemate last start at Sandown at this class and is stepping up slightly from 1400m to 1500m which suits. First-up this preparation he was third behind a horse who was in terrific form. The Mick Price team is flying at the moment and Octabello will be hard to beat in this race.
For a bit more value, Radical has been racing in great form.
He was third behind a couple of smart horses in The Passage and Oceans Fourteen last start at Sandown over 1800m. He will appreciate the drop back to 1500m which he placed third over at Moonee Valley two starts ago.
Tip: Octabello $1.75 win, Radical $3.30 place
Kensington R4
Cormac from the Chris Waller team is the one to beat in this race. He won impressively last start over 2200m at this grade and the step up to 2400m should be no issue. He ran over 2400m two starts ago and was by no means disgraced in a much tougher grade at Saturday city level.
Also from the Waller yard is Night Breaker who finished second behind Cormac last start and is much better in the weights so he could be the one to knock off the favourite.
Tip: Cormac $2.50 & Night Breaker $5/$1.70 each way
Kensington R8
Bull Market from the Snowden yard is third emergency in this race but if he can get a run, I think he will go well. He has been racing in great form and hasn’t missed a placing in all three starts this preparation. This race is also a slight drop back in class from last start and a drop back in distance from 1400m to 1300m which I think suits him very well.
Tip: Bull Market $8.50/$2.90 each way
