BLUEY’S BEST BETS – 27/07/2019
ROSEHILL – RACE 3 1200m 12:50 AEST
CONNEMARA ($2.50)
Has resumed from a long spell in top form, finishing a narrow second in both runs back this campaign on testing Heavy tracks. Gets some relief here on a drier track and has had a trial in between her last run to ensure she is fit for this. Looks a great chance in this small field.
ROSEHILL – RACE 4 1350m 13:25 AEST
GRESHAM ($4.00)
Has been racing in top form this prep without scoring a win so far, but I think that can change today. Last start finished within a length of Smartedge at Randwick after dropping back to 1400m. Similar distance here today, but I think the key will be barrier 1. Rock hard fit, so if he can get off to a good start from the inside barrier I think this field will have trouble reaching him in the straight
CAULFIELD – RACE 4 2400m 13:40 AEST
SASKO ($3.60)
This looks to be a race between the top 3 in the market and Sasko provides the most appeal at the price. Looks to get a gun run in the lead and should be relatively left alone to run his own race. Racing in good form recently and maybe just went a touch quick last start before being overrun in the long Flemington straight. Caulfield should suit more.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
CAULFIELD – RACE 8 1200m 16:20 AEST
SCALES OF JUSTICE ($10.00)
Returns here today after a long 250-day spell, which is obviously a concern but no doubt has the talent to give this a shake. Has ran at Group 1 level previously (even jumped favourite in the Group 1 Rupert Clarke) and exudes class over this field. Huge chance that he could be underdone here, but I’m willing to risk this talented gelding at double-figure odds.
