WARWICK FARM - RACE 3 1200m 14:00 AEST
FRONT SIGHT ($2.20)
Backing Front Sight to get the job done here over the short priced favourite Embracer, who went under as a $1.10F last start at Wyong. Embracer had issues there and can atone, but Front Sight demonstrated good ability in his first prep against some good types, including Kolding, who has won his last three races. Looks the better value of the two.
SALE - RACE 6 1416m 15:20 AEST
HEIR TO THE THRONE ($1.75)
Racing in good form so far this prep, finishing within 3L of the winner in all three of his runs this prep. Was pushed out to 1800m in his last run, which I’m not sure is his best distance – though he did run strongly there. Has been freshened since that run and the 1400m should suit. Has great form in the wet so won’t be phased by the soft conditions.
SALE – RACE 7 1110m 15:55 AEST
ELAM ($3.90)
Knocking on the door this prep and deserves a win. Has finished runner up twice this prep from just three runs, including last start where looked the winner but was run down late. Forget his second up run where he was wide throughout and dropped out in the straight. Should be able to get a strong position from a middle barrier and prove tough to beat again.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
WARWICK FARM – RACE 6 1100m 15:45 AEST
JACK’S BAR ($6.50)
Was coming off a long spell (231 days) in his last run at Scone, where he was tightened for room around the turn until the 300m mark. With a better run, he could have finished closer, but he ran on solidly for 7th – only 2L from the eventual winner Akasaki. Should improve markedly second up after such a long layoff and could be value in an open race. Draws a great barrier
