Bluey’s Best Racing Bets – Wednesday 26 September

Racing Betting Guide Wednesday, September 26

Flemington R6 – Kennedy Oaks Trial

Oregon Dreamer from the Busuttin/Young yard was very impressive winning by seven lengths last start, but this race is a big step up in class from that maiden. While she hasn’t raced beyond 1450m, the way she relaxed in her run tells me that she should enjoy a step up in trip.

Fiera Vista from the Weir stable won at stakes level last start in Adelaide but it seems to enjoy leading and from barrier 15, she will need to do a bit of work if she wants to get on the speed and that’s not ideal for a filly stepping up in distance.

Sizzleme from Cindy Alderson’s stable led the trip last start over a mile against a number of horses in this race and was also impressive, but I really liked the way Yulong Meteor finished that race off.

I tipped this horse from the Maher/Eustace yard in that race and she just got back and ran out of ground to catch Sizzleme but Ciaron Maher knows a thing or two about a staying filly and with the awkward gate I think she can get back and will finish off strong. She is a big, strong filly and the more ground she gets over, the better she will be.

Tip: Oregon Dreamer $6.00/$2.25, Yulong Meteor place $4.80

Flemington R7 – AAMI Victoria Derby Trial

Looking outside of the favourites, I really like the form behind Lindsay Park’s Nero Chin Chin. This horse is bred to stay and has already placed at stakes level over this track and distance as a two-year-old behind walk up Derby starter Visao.

Merchant of Venice from Jason Warren’s yard looks to be a nice a horse going forward. Being by So You Think, he should relish the 1800m and from the bad gate he will be able to get back in the field and look for some cover to run home late.

Tip: Merchant of Venice $3.70/$1.70, Nero Chin Chin place $8.00

Rosehill R7

Za Zi Ba is in terrific form at the moment and I think she deserves more respect than what the market is giving her at the moment.

Barrier 11 is not ideal, but she usually sits midfield in the run so Sam Weatherly just needs to jump evenly and look for cover. She has won at this class and distance this prep and should go well again.

The favourite from the Godolphin yard, Resin, ran well first-up in a stronger grade and should improve off the back of that run. Barrier two with James McDonald on board, deserves respect.

Tip: Za Zi Ba $6.50/$2.35 & Resin $4.20/$1.80
