Racing Betting Guide Wednesday, 9 January
Sandown R1
Ciaron Maher and David Eustace’s Soul Star is well overdue for a win. She returned from a spell last start at Moonee Valley and finished second to what looks to be a pretty talented filly of Mick Price’s.
Stepping back out to 1200m will suit her as she has metro form over that distance in a higher grade. This race is also a step down in grade from Saturday city class.
Gun rider Mark Zahra will take the ride and from barrier three, I think she will be hard to beat.
Tip: Soul Star win @ $2.60
Sandown R3
David Hayes has recently taken over the care of regally bred colt More Sundays.
Returning after 19 weeks, this horse would have grown and matured, hopefully into a nice racehorse. His breeding suggests that he could go further than 1200m but to kick off over that distance would suit him.
He was a first-up winner last prep as a two-year-old and he should be hard to be again on Wednesday.
Tip: More Sundays @ $2.25
Warwick Farm R3
There are two runners in this race that punters can’t seem to split, and they are Tycoon Street from the Kris Lees yard and Luskintyre Lass who is trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
Luskintyre Court is stepping up to 1600m from 1200m and has only ever run over the mile once before and finished last after leading for the trip.
Tycoon Street has been very consistent this preparation and has been building up to the mile nicely running second last start over 1550m.
Tip: Tycoon Street @ $3.80
