Good return first up when covering a lot of extra ground from a wide barrier at Moonee Valley. Second up last prep won nicely before running strongly behind Nature Strip. Expecting to see a much-improved performance here and we could see a good prep from this gelding.

CRADLE MOUNTAIN ($3.00)
Really like this horse – gritty contender who’s always in for the fight. We saw that last start when he was challenged for the lead before eventually pulling away for a very comfortable victory. That was coming off a long injury break which he looks to have overcome. Unraced at distance but looks tough to beat.
Ascot - Race 3 1400m 16:44 AEDT
IN LOVE WITH PARIS ($3.10)
Good first up behind the talented Stageman who runs as a hot favourite in the race prior. Last start fairly beaten into 2nd but looks like he can hit back here with a win. Will be close to peak fitness third up and Craig Williams on board is a big positive. Look for him to break his recent bridesmaid tag here.

Was brilliant first up when unleashing a powerful sprint late. That was the fastest last 200m of the day, she was just too far back there. Forgive last start where she had atrial fibrillation – if the race is run to suit, she can atone here in a big way.

Trialled well before a huge 1st up return when running 2nd at $100-1 behind the talented Mahalangur at Randwick. Zoomed home there and looks suited jumping up to 1800m. Great 2nd up record and could jag something here.
