REDZEL ($1.70)
Last year’s Everest winner returns here after a slightly disappointing (by his lofty standards) Autumn campaign. This race looks like to be by far one of the easiest he has faced in some time and given his consistency in the past I’m more than happy to take the shorts here.

LE ROMAIN ($3.70)
Loved the first up win of this gelding when carrying 61kgs, he quickened nicely in that race and put them to the sword. Current favourite Pierata will be hard to beat, but I’m not 100% convinced on the Kementari form. Le Romain is a proven topliner and I’m happy to take the price on offer here. Beware Tom Melbourne!

VEGA MAGIC ($2.75)
Couldn’t have been more impressive last start beating Voodoo Lad who subsequently went on to win a nice race following. Looks like could be one of the form horses of the Spring. Great 2nd up record and should be very hard to beat here.

SANTA ANA LANE ($8.50)
Finished last prep with two super Group 1 wins, including an ultra-impressive win in the Goodwood where he came from a hopeless position to score! The favourite Voodoo Lad has been impressive in recent times, but the two times Santa Ana Lane has come up against him, he has bested him on both occasions. I’d suggest the market should have this horse slightly shorter than the current quote.
