Bluey’s Best Bets – 13/04/2019
RANDWICK - RACE 3 2000m 13:10 AEST
AMANGIRI ($2.60)
Was defeated by the narrowest of margins last start in the Adrian Knox stakes after drawing a wide barrier and working hard early to cross and lead. Simply ran out of gas late there and the two other placegetters have since run well in the Oaks last week. Form prior to that was terrific and looks a great chance to rebound here from a more favourable draw.
CAULFIELD – RACE 4 1600m 14:00 AEST
MUSIC BAY ($3.00)
Finally returned to the winner’s circle last start after going down as favourite in the two starts prior. She did it in style at Sandown too, scoring an impressive 4 length victory. Has some serious form lines behind her from last prep, including Mystic Journey and Amphitrite. Jumps back to Saturday grade here and I’m confident a fitter Music Bay can get the chocolates here in what looks a fairly easy assignment.
CAULFIELD - RACE 9 1200m 17:10 AEST
HAUNTED ($4.60)
Sports a terrific first up record and looks to improve on that here in what looks to be a very winnable race for the Cummings trained runner. Last prep worked through the grades beautifully, scoring an impressive win record of three out of his six races. Draws to get a gun run here and should have improved from last prep. Likely to progress further this prep but this race looks very winnable for him.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
RANDWICK - RACE 8 1200m 16:15 AEST
TREKKING ($8.50)
Put in a terrific prep during the Spring which included three wins and a number of other quality runs. First up this prep was likely unfavoured by the bog track but still finished gamely for 4th. Has trialled brilliantly leading into this and draws to get the run of the race here. Back to drier ground also a positive and despite the favourite looking very hard to beat, Trekking should run a good race here.
