MANDURAH GREYHOUND TRACK 

MANDURAH TRACK INFORMATION

Greyhounds WA Mandurah is located just south of Perth at Kanyana Park, Western Australia. Mandurah features newly built, state-of-the-art facilities, which were upgraded and modernised in 2018. All Mandurah race meetings are broadcast to Sky Racing and admission to the venue is generally free of charge, with the gates generally opening at around 5pm on Tuesday race days and 6pm on Thursday and Friday race days.

The venue holds provincial meetings on Tuesday & Friday evenings, with country class racing taking place on Thursday evenings. The Mandurah track surface is sand and has quite a large circumference of 599m, making the track more circular than most greyhound tracks. Races currently take place over the distances of; 302m, 405m, 490m and 647m.

MANDURAH KEY RACES

The highlight of Mandurah’s racing season is no doubt the Group 3 Mandurah Cup, which takes place in October over 490m with $25,000 going to the winner. Mandurah also hosts the Birthday Cup which is run over 405m in January, as well as numerous listed races throughout the year.

NOTABLE PAST WINNERS AT MANDURAH

As Mandurah does not play host to any Group 1 or Group 2 events, the honour roll is not as rich as other Greyhound race tracks in Western Australia. Most of the notable winners at Mandurah are generally rising through the grades. Notable past winners at Mandurah include; Windfire (1984), Sandi's Me Mum (1991), Reggemite (1999), Flying Emu (2010) and Astrozone (2017).

MANDURAH BOX STATISTICS

Over the years, Box 1 has proven to be clearly the most successful trap for greyhounds racing at Mandurah. The box has generally performed at around 19% strike rate in recent years. The rest of the boxes have performed relatively evenly over the years, most likely due to the shape of the track being more circular than other greyhound tracks with a circumference of 599m. Box 7 has generally been the worst performing box in recent years, with a strike rate of about 7-10%.
