The Hurricanes season started slowly but they’ve now won 4 straight matches. The key in this winning streak has been D’Arcy Short with the bat and the bowling lineup has delivered. They’ll start as the favourite at home against the Heat as a result. This is a crucial game for Hobart as they sit on equal points with Brisbane.
The Heat are 4-3 this season and just sit inside the top four. They controversially lost to the Hurricanes last game and will be looking for revenge here. They are missing Chris Lynn which is a blow to their batting and their bowlers will need to improve, especially against Short.

The Hurricanes are 7-4 against the Heat since 2010 and beat them in the first meeting this season.
Top Runscorer: Hurricanes
Short is absolutely on fire and $3 seems cheap for him at the moment. He’s scored 406 runs in 6 matches and is coming off 122 not out against the Heat. Others to watch are McDermott who has made four starts in a row. Also, Wade is hitting them well as he bats at number 3 now. But we’ll be backing Short again.

Top Runscorer: Heat
Without Lynn the pressure is on McCullum with the bat. He is in good form with a couple of 30s and 61 against the Stars. So he’s the best bet here. Sam Heazlett is a batsman to watch after top scoring with 45 against the Hurricanes last match. But in the end, McCullum is a proven T20 batsman and should enjoy the small boundaries in Hobart.

The Hurricanes are 3-1 against the Heat at home in the Big Bash. They just beat them last week and have the edge in both the batting/bowling department. So we’ll be taking the Hurricanes here.
Melbourne Stars v Sydney Sixers

The Stars are finally on the winners list after beating the weakened Renegades last match. KP played a great innings and the bowlers finally stepped up. They’re missing a few key players but the positive is the younger players are getting playing time. So they’ll start as the favourite here at home and they’re 4-2 against the Sixers in BBL history.
Sydney also tasted victory for the first time this season with a win over the Thunder at the SCG. The Sixers easily chased down a total as the top order batting finally got the job done. They have some new faces in the squad (Denly, Lyon, Brathwaite) and Moises Henriques is back in the lineup. So they’ll be keen to keep the momentum going here in Melbourne.

Since 2010, the Stars have a 4-2 record against the Sixers. At the MCG, the Stars are 2-1 agianst them as well.

Pietersen led the charge for the Stars last game as he top scored with a quick fire 74. Handscomb batted well with 41 and Maxwell scored 31 off 16 balls. But with just a few matches left in his BBL career, we’re expecting KP will top score again here.

Top Runscorer: Sixers
The Sixers top four had a great time last game so picking a top scorer is tough. Denly scored 43 off 29 balls in first outing this season. Daniel Hughes led the Sixers to victory with 66 not out. Maddinson continues to pass 20 runs so a big score should be around the corner. In the end, Hughes has the potential to score big and he also top scored against the Stars in the last meeting at the MCG.

Stars WIN ($1.68)
Both sides finally won last game so this should be an interesting game. The Sixers have been terrible on the road this season with a 0-4 record. However, the Stars are 0-2 at home. They were against two top four sides though. So the Stars are 4-2 against the Sixers and we’ll back them in.
