BlueBet previews the BBL07 Round 6 action below. Read on for our best betting tips per game and an overview of the feature games this round.
Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Sixers
When: 8th Jan 2018, 6:10pm (AEDT)
Where: Hobart
Odds: Hurricanes $1.60, Sixers $2.35
Form Guide
The Hurricanes season is back on track after two straight wins. Last game they held on against the Stirkers at home and beat the Thunder on the road previously. The form of D'Arcy Short has been the key and Joffra Archer is their leading wicket taker (8).
For the Sixers, their season is pretty much over if they lose this. They’re 0-5 and nothing has gone right for the finalists from BBL06. The top order batting has struggled and the bowlers aren’t taking wickets, which hurts a T20 side.
Head to Head
Hurricanes won the last meeting by 60 runs but the Sixers are 4-3 against them since 2010.
Top Runscorer: Hurricanes
D'Arcy Short has fallen short of a hundred in back to back matches and currently leads the Big Bash with 242 runs. He’s your best bet. Alex Doolan is in good form at the top of the order for a value bet.
Best Bet: D’Arcy Short ($3.20)
Top Runscorer: Sixers
Nic Maddinson and Jordan Silk would be the best bets for the Sixers. Maddinson has only failed to score over 20 runs in 1 of 5 matches. In 3 matches, Silk has scored 111 runs. In the end, Maddinson should enjoy the Canes quicks.
Best Bet: Nic Maddinson ($4)
Prediction
Hurricanes WIN ($1.60)
Hobart defeated the Strikers last game at home and it’s just hard to see the Sixers getting past them. Sydney struggle with the bat and can’t take 10 wickets.
Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Renegades
When: 8th Jan 2018, 9:20pm (AEDT)
Where: WACA, Perth
Odds: Renegades $1.73, Scorchers $2.12
Form Guide
Perth head back home after a disappointing loss against the Heat at the Gabba. The bowlers were no match for the Heat’s batting lineup and the Scorchers batting collapsed.
The Renegades sit atop the ladder after another impressive win. They beat the Stars at the MCG and comfortably chased down another total. Aaron Finch is finding form and Afghan Mohammed Nabi was man of the match last game. They have a strong lineup and will be ready for Perth.
Head to Head
The Scorchers have never lost against the Renegades in the 7 meetings. They won the first matchup of the season by 3 runs in Melbourne.
Top Runscorer: Scorchers
Michael Klinger has top scored in his last 4 innings against the Renegades so that form is hard to back agianst. David Willey offers value while he opens the batting. Adam Voges is good value in the middle order.
Best Bet: Michael Klinger $3.20
Top Runscorer: Renegades
Tom Cooper top scored against the Scorchers in the last meeting but it’s hard to look past the form of Finch and White. White is the third top scorer in the Big Bash with 217 runs in 5 matches. While for Finch, he has scores of 43 and 51 in his last two matches. White offers a bit more value so we’ll back him.Best Bet: Cameron White $3.75
Prediction
Renegades WIN ($1.73)
The Renegades are 0-7 against the Scorchers but we think this is the side to break that streak. They’ve also been very close to beating them in the last 2 meetings. The Scorchers bowlers haven’t looked at their best in the last two matches and the Renegades have a strong batting lineup. That will be the main difference.
Other Round 6 Big Bash Tips:
Strikers vs Stars - Stars WIN ($2.10)
Heat vs Hurricanes - Heat WIN ($2.25)
