The 2017 Goodwood is a Group 1 set weight with penalties event held over a distance of 1200 metres at Morphettville Racecourse, Adelaide with prizemoney of $1,000,000. The Goodwood is part of the South Australian Jockey Club Autumn Carnival.

History of The Goodwood
The Goodwood was inaugurated in 1881 and was originally a handicap until 2007 when it changed to set-weights with penalties. The event is the richest sprint race in the South Australian Autumn Carnival. In 1980 it was granted Group 1 status.
