About The Everest
The Everest, the world’s richest turf race kicks off for the first time this year, with the inaugural event taking place at Royal Randwick Racecourse. The race has been earmarked as the focal point of the Sydney Spring Carnival with its massive $10 Million prize pool set to attract a world-class field. The winner will take home a whopping $5.8 Million paycheck.
The Everest is unlike other any other Australian race, due to that fact that each slot is purchased by connections. The field is then composed of horses nominated by slot owners. Each slot costs $600,000 and must be bought for 3 years.
The race has a capacity field of 12 runners and is expected to become one of the most recognised races around the world.
