Early Betting on the Caulfield Guineas
The 2020 Caulfield Guineas is shaping up as one of the races of the Spring and as such, is shaping up as an intriguing betting race. The Team Hawkes trained Ole Kirk ($4.60) currently sits atop markets and it is hard to argue after an emphatic win in the Golden Rose (1400m) where he knocked off the stablemate North Pacific ($9) in a ding-dong battle. That race was run at a brutal tempo so should represent a nice platform heading into his grand final in the Guineas. Sitting on the second line of betting is the exciting Chris Waller colt Mo'unga ($5.50), who at this stage looks to be priced off hype having perhaps accounted for a weaker field in the Dulcify last start. Will be interesting to see how the market treats him late in the piece. The chances don't end there however, with Glenfiddich ($7), Kings Legacy ($7), Crosshaven ($10), and Tagaloa ($13) all lurking and expected to attract admirers closer to the jump.
Betting Options
A Win, Place and Each Way bet are the easiest form of betting options for the Group 1 Caulfield Cup. A win bet known as betting 'on the nose', is the most common bet type. It is a bet made on a single horse to finish first.
Some other forms of horse racing betting include: quinella, exacta, trifecta, first 4, quaddie and the big6.
