Round 18 Preview

North Melbourne Kangaroos vs West Coast Eagles

Thursday (10th September 7.10pm) Metricon Stadium

Last game of the 2020 season for the Kangaroos and it can’t come quick enough. A season that promised so much has fallen down so quickly. Reece Shaw has some questions to ask his players over the offseason if they still want to play for this side. I believe there will be a lot of changes come season 2021. The Eagles on the other hand can’t fall below 5th spot but if the Tigers or Cats lose they can sneak into the top 4 that’s if they beat the Kangaroos of course. They had a great come from behind victory last weekend vs the Saints and will take a lot of confidence away from that victory, that they were able to do that while missing a few of their stars. Sheed and Ah Chee are back for the Eagles but they lose Mcgovern to a hamstring injury. I am tipping the Eagles by 30+.

H2H

The Eagles have won four of the last five games vs the Kangaroos

Best bet

Eagles -35.5 $1.90

Eagles 40+ $2.10

St Kilda Saints vs GWS Giants

Friday (18th September 7.50pm) GabbaWow this game is big come Friday night if the Saints want to play finals footy they will need to beat the Giants on Friday night and if the Giants want to play finals footy they need to beat the Saints and other results must go their way. Giants over the last couple of weeks have been in all sorts and to be honest they don’t deserve to play finals footy but in saying that I think come Friday night they will put up a huge fight against this tiring Saints side. I have heard rumours the Saints are rushing Dan Hannebery back into this side for Friday night's game. Silly silly silly! The bloke hasn’t strung three games together for three years now and they want to throw him in the deep end. If the Giants are to win this game they need their forwards firing especially Jeremy Cameron who has been down on form this year. Expect the Giants to bring in Stephen Coniglio after he was dropped last weekend. I am tipping the Giants in a close one.

H2H

The Giants have won three of the last five games vs the Saints

Best bet

Giants +4.5 $1.90

Giants win $2.10

Essendon Bombers vs Melbourne Demons

Saturday (19th September 2.10pm) Metricon Stadium

Do or die clash here for the Demons if they win they can sneak into the top 8 and pray the Dogs get beat tomorrow. They played very good football last weekend vs the Giants and will look to take that form into this game. The Bombers on the other hand have nothing to play for, maybe sending John Worsfold off in a winning team after he has given so much to this football side. Game will be won in the middle but I am leading towards Essendon here as the run and carry they can provide could open up this Demons side. The Metricon deck will play into the Bombers running game and if they can get fast ball into their forward line it can set up a famous victory. Bombers by 10

H2H

The Bombers have won three of the last five games vs the Demons

Best bet

Bombers +11.5 $1.90

Bombers win $2.45

Adelaide Crows vs Richmond Tigers

Saturday (19th September 5.10pm) Adelaide Oval

Every West Coast fan will be cheering for the Crows today. If they can somehow knock off the Tigers today the Eagles will finish in the top 4. The Crows have been in good form this month and would love nothing more than knocking off a flag fancy. The Tigers should be too strong for the Crows today and cement themselves into the top four and charge towards another flag. The game today will be a battle of the midfields, The Tigers fab four are up and running and they will be hard to stop today. Adelaide Oval suits their running game. It could be Taylor Walker's last game as a Crow so they will want to put in a good performance for their leader. I am tipping the Tigers as they have much more to play for then the Crows.

H2H

The Crows have won three of the last five games vs the Tigers

Best bet

Tigers -21.5 $1.90

Brisbane Lions vs Carlton Blues

Saturday (19th September 7.40pm) Gabba

Saturday night at the Gabba so expect this game to have some of the worst skills on offer. The conditions have suited the Lions as they have hardly left the Sunshine State and it is their grand final to lose. The Blues haven’t really impressed me this year, sure they’ve won some games but last week's effort was a disgrace against a side that is coming last. I can see the Lions winning this game by 50+ . They are on their home deck and they are playing a super fast paced style of football that has every team taking notice. Lachie Neald leading the charges in the middle and he is on his way for a Brownlow. The Blues need to start well this weekend as they have been shocking over the past 3 weeks just giving their opponents too much of a head start. Lions by the line and more.

H2H

The Lions have won three of the last five games vs the Blues

Best bet

Lions -26.5 $1.90
