Footy on a Monday night is the best thing to happen since slice bread. The Power will look to take their form in from last weekend into this game and build on their healthy percentage on the ladder. They were all over the Demons last weekend and I believe it will be the same come tonight. The Dogs were also smashed by the Tigers last weekend they couldn't get into the game at all. The delivery to their forwards last weekend was horrible, Josh Bruce is a key marking forward and the mids were delivering the ball at his feet. If they are to have any hope tonight they need to better their skills. Gowers has been dropped along with Trengrove and Suckling will miss the game through injury, picking up a hamstring injury early in the game against the Tigers. The Power are top of the table and with the Eagles and Tigers coming hard they need to win these games to secure a top two spot and play their finals at Adelaide Oval. Charlie Dixon needs to start this game well, didn't have his best game last weekend and many are saying he isn't as valuable as he makes out he is. Needs a bag tonight to stay in the coleman race. In saying all that I think the Dogs are a chance tonight and at $3 there is value.

Richmond Tigers vs Brisbane Lions
Monday (4th August, 7.40) Metricon Stadium
This looks like an absolute cracker tonight between two flag favourites. The Lions have been in great form and had an easy win last weekend against a wayward Bombers side. This week will be a lot harder with the Tigers getting back their 2019 form and like last year, are finding form at the right time of the year. Dustin Martin had his best game of 2020 last weekend vs the Bulldogs and if he brings that this weekend then the Tigers win. When he plays well the Tigers win. The Lions need to clamp down on him early in the game and not let him get any clean ball when going forward as he will dominate. Nick Vlaustin is back for the Tigers he adds polish in the backline and sets up the forward play for his mids. The Lions need Zorko and Rayner to be on tonight with no Rich and Birchall. With them both being rested, they have lost two of their best kicks in the side. Those two players set up a lot of the Lions forward play, two big losses there.BlueBet has this game an even contest and I am going with the Tigers here. They've been in good form recently and have embraced hub life. Tom Lynch is the key to the Tigers goals tonight; if he kicks a bag it will be a yellow and black night.

Collingwood Magpies vs Sydney Swans
Thursday (6th August, 5.40) Gabba
The Pies will be kicking themselves after last weekends game when they lost to the Dockers in a game they should have won. If Steele Sidebottom wasn't out there last weekend it would of been a bigger margin. Darcy Moore and Maynard need help down back as they are getting no support from their midfield in defence. Moore is on his way to an All Australian spot, his closing speed is one of the best in the comp and rarely gets beat in the air. The Swans will be out for an upset, Papley is their target up forward and he is coming second in the Coleman so will be looking for a bag of goals to put pressure on Josh Kennendy. Swans have swung the changes and have even dropped Blakey who has been out of sorts this year, but that comes with being a second year player. Pies need to win this to secure a finals spot if they lose it will become even harder for them. In the off season the Pies will need to scout a forward as they have no direction when going forward. I believe they will hunt and hurt the young Swans tonight, Longmuire might play very defensive like the Swans did against the Tigers a few weeks ago. Pies by 10+ tonight.

Gold Coast Suns vs St Kilda Saints
Thursday (6th August, 8.10) Metricon Stadium
Another prime time spot for the Suns and boy this looks like a cracker. The Saints are flying and are pushing for a top four spot but they need to keep this form rolling. Like St Kilda in the last few years they have promised the world but delivered an Atlas, this is their time to put away a side they should beat and push for that finals spot. The Suns on the other hand didn't have their greatest game last weekend vs the Giants. Coach Dew apparently gave a few a kick up the ass during the week so I expect them to come out breathing fire. This is a game the Suns can win and especially on prime time footy on a Thursday night. The two King brothers going at it tonight excites me as we will get a glimpse into the future Kings of the game. I am going with the Suns tonight as I believe this is a mini grand final for them and they would love nothing more then knocking off a finals bound side.

Essendon Bombers vs GWS Giants
Friday (7th August, 7.50) Metricon Stadium
Big Friday night game between two teams who are pushing for a finals spot. The Giants last weekend were hit with two big injuries to two key players in Greene and De Boer. Greene is a big loss for the Giants as he has been on fire of late and adds so much value to the Giants side when going forward. He is out for 2-4 weeks with a hamstring injury, De Boer joins him on the sideline with his own hamstring injury. The Giants need to win this game to keep in touch with the top 4, The Bombers are in desperate need of a win tonight. They got smashed last weekend and will want to show a better performance this weekend against a top side. McKenna and Mckernan are back for the Bombers and I love those two ins. McKenna adds pace while Mckernan adds grunt and an option up forward. As I have mentioned before starts are key for these short qtr games. Giants have been slow out of the blocks for the last two weeks so they will want to start well tonight. I am tipping the Giants tonight they have to much class to lose to the Bombers tonight. Giants by 15+
