AFL Finals week 3
Melbourne Demons vs Geelong Cats, Optus Stadium, 10/9/21, 7.50pm
What a cracking game this will be to kick of the third week of the final, with two teams who have been up the top end of the ladder for all of Season 2021 facing off in a prelim final to make it into the big dance. The Demons last played in a prelim in 2018 at this exact ground and had their pants pulled down. Not kicking a goal till after half-time. If the Demons start well and put those thoughts out of their heads, they will win this game, but the start is crucial. The Cats come into this game as the underdog, and they will thrive on this. Demons need to stop Hawkins and Cameron if they can hold them to minimal goals, they will win, if they let them off the chain early, it could be good night. Lever and May will need to pay close attention to the Cats' forward line. The Demons have a strong midfield and will use all their run and carry to run the Cats off their feet in the middle. Gawn will be giving first use to the Demons' mids. Surprising that the Demons have brought in Hibbard instead of Hunt who I thought could have added a lot of speed to the backline on the wide ground of Optus Oval. Huge game and the crowd is sold out. Tipping the Demons here but geez, it will be hot early. Demons by 10.

Port Adelaide Power vs Western Bulldogs, Adelaide Oval, 11/9/21 7.40pm
This game will be an absolute ripper. The Power fell short last year in this exact fixture against a red hot Richmond side but this year they will be better placed to beat the Doggies and move into a third grand- final in the club's history. The Dogs had their best win of Season 2021 last weekend beating the Lions in an absolute thriller at the Gabba. Winning by 1 point but there were so many heroes that stood up for the Doggies. Bailey Smith and Mcare had the ball on a string and if they play like that this weekend, they will go very close to beating the Power. The Power need to use the advantage of a home crowd and put this game to bed early. The Dogs have lost Alex Keath with a hamstring injury, but have brought back Stefan Martin who will help their mids a lot. The Bont looked injured last weekend but has been declared fit, he could turn this game on its head and win it off his own boot. Would love Aaron Naughton to stand up and kick a bag this weekend and show the footy world what he is made of. Dogs will need to stop Wines and Boak if they are any chance in the midfield. Tipping the Power by 1+ but it will be very close.
