First starter. Two-year-old filly by I Am Invincible out of Catalonia. Trialled recently when out of the placings over 800m at Cranbourne February 7. Looks talented and must be respected with the blinkers on.
1. SEGUSO ($2.60)
Useful type. Last start sat on the speed and boxed on steadily 2nd of 9 at Pakenham 3yo+ (Bm64) on February 17 over 1200m, 0.8 len behind Grinzinger Prince carrying 61.5kg at $2.10. Before that ran on strongly from last on the turn; 4th of 11 at Moonee Valley 3yo+ (Bm64) on February 4 over 1200m, 2.5 len behind Shotmaker carrying 61.5kg at $2.30. Going well. Blinkers on to sharpen him right up now.
2. LAYBUY ($2.20)
Racing well. Most recently checked near 1000m; 3rd of 9 at Moonee Valley 3yo+ (Bm70) on February 25 over 2040m, 1.4 len behind Vardani with 58.5kg at $4.50. The start before that raced right near the speed and boxed on; won by a neck at this track 3yo+ (Bm64) February 9 over 1800m defeating Raccolto with 59kg at $6.
4. HEAD FIRST ($3.80)
Resuming from a lengthy break. Won at only race start won by 5.5 len at Wodonga 2yo Mdn July 11 over 1100m in heavy going defeating River Views with 56kg at $2.30. Got off the mark on debut with an impressive 5.5 lengths win over 1100m at Wodonga. Shows good ability and rates among the leading hopes.
