NBA Tips & Betting Preview | Thursday 2nd December

Minnesota Timberwolves (11-10) at Washington Wizards (13-8)

The improving Timberwolves have won 7 of their last 8 games and one areas of their improvement has been on the road. They won just 10 games on the road this season but come off 2 wins in their last 3 away from Minnesota. That includes an impressive 121-120 double OT win over the 76ers. So overall, they should be confident of continuing their good form in Washington.

Washington will look to get back on track after a disappointing 116-99 loss against the Spurs. However, Bradley Beal is coming off 23 and 26 points in their last 2 games. He also has a nice career record against the T-Wolves, including 31 points in the January meeting last season.

Both sides come off scoring around 100 points and we can see this becoming a low scoring affair, especially considering the Wizards home trend. In their last 5 home games, the Under is 5-0 and it's also 10-4 in their last 14 games.

Stadium Record

The Wizards are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. Minnesota are 2-3 at this venue in their last 5 games in Washington.

Head to Head Record

Washington has won the last 3 meetings and hold a 6-4 record in the last 10 meetings.

Best Bet

Under 215.5 = $1.92

Philadelphia 76ers (11-10) at Boston Celtics (11-10)

The 76ers have struggled without Joel Embiid after starting the season with an 8-2 record. However, Embiid is back on the court and he usually loves this matchup with Boston. Seth Curry also comes into this matchup with good form after scoring 24 points against the Magic in the 76ers 101-96 victory last time out.

The Celtics will likely be at full strength for an important clash against the 76ers at TD Garden. They were missing Dennis Schroder and Robert Williams in their comfortable 109-97 win over the Raptors on Monday. But they should return for this clash. However, Marcus Smart and Josh Richardson enjoyed the extra playing time with a combined 39 points. The other injury to monitor is Jaylen Brown, who's struggled to get into full fitness from a hamstring complaint.

Joel Embiid is the key to this matchup for the 76ers and he usually performs well against Boston's front court. Philadelphia has also won the 3 meetings in 2021, including a 106-96 win at TD Garden in April. So we're expecting a close contest and can see value in a Philadelphia upset.

Stadium Record

Boston has won 5 of their last 6 at TD Garden. The 76ers have a poor 3-15 record in Boston.

Head to Head Record

Since 2019, the head to head is locked at 5-5.

Best Bet

Philadelphia 76ers +2.5 = $1.94

Charlotte Hornets (13-10) at Milwaukee Bucks (13-8)

Charlotte has lost back to back games where their defence has simply struggled. They conceded 146 points against the Rockets in OT and then gave up 133 points in a 14 point defeat against the Bulls on Tuesday. So the Bucks will pose a massive challenge unless they can find a solution.

The Bucks will to extend their winning streak to 8 games when they meet the Hornets on Thursday. On their home court, the Bucks have been strong with a 5-0 record and have averaged 113.9 points per game. With the Hornets defence struggling to contain opposing offences, the Bucks will look to take full advantage. Milwaukee may also give a debut to newly signed centre DeMarcus Cousins.

With the Hornets defence giving up plenty of points, the Over has become a nice bet when they're involved. Milwaukee have also found their scoring ability with a healthier lineup. To top it off, the Over is 4-1 when the two sides meet in Milwaukee.

Stadium Record

The Bucks are 5-0 in their last 5 home games. The Hornets have struggled in Milwaukee with a 1-6 record in their last 7.

Head to Head Record

Milwaukee have won 7 of the last 10 meetings since 2018.

Best Bet

Over 230.5 pts = $1.94
