NBA Tips & Betting Preview | Tuesday 23rd November

Charlotte Hornets (10-8) at Washington Wizards (11-5)

The Hornets 5 game winning streak came to end last time out in a 115-105 loss to the Hawks. So they'll look to get back on track against the Wizards behind the combination between Bridges and Ball. Miles Bridges in particular recorded a career-high 35 points against the Hawks. He'll need to continue that form as the Hornets hit the road for 7 of their next 8 games.

Washington will be out for revenge in this matchup after the Hornets broke their 5 game winning streak in their previous meeting this season in the 97-87 result. The Wizards should be confident after outlasting the Miami Heat in their latest game, winning 103-100. One of the Wizards strengths this season has been their form at home as they've won 4 in a row and 7 of 8 this season.

A low scoring affair looks like a strong play in this matchup. Firstly, the Wiz are 5-0 against the Under at home and 5-1 when they meet the Hornets. This includes the earlier season meeting that totalled just 184 points. Charlotte is also 5-1 against the Under in their last 6.

Stadium Record

The Wizards have won 8 of their last 9 home games. Charlotte has a poor 3-10 record in Washington.

Head to Head Record

Charlotte won the first meeting of the season 97-87 and hold a 7-3 record in the last 10.

Best Bet

Under 214.5 points = $1.92

Brooklyn Nets (12-5) at Cleveland Cavaliers (9-8)

With no Kevin Durant against the struggling Magic, the Nets held on for a 2 point win (115-113) and they'll be hoping Durant can make a return to the lineup. He has a mild shoulder injury so there's a good chance he'll play against a solid opposition in the Cavs. However, they'll be missing Joe Harris and Bruce Brown to injury. Which should see James Johnson and Patty Mills continue to get more playing time off the bench.

Speaking of injuries, the Cavs are dealing with plenty of issues at the moment with the likes of Mobley, Jarrett Allen and Markkanen on the sidelines. Making matters worse is a season-ending injury for Colin Sexton. As a result of the injury crisis, the Cavs have lost 3 on the trot and their offence has struggled to score over 100 points. So they'll need Darius Garland to continue his good form as he's averaging 21 points in his last 6 outings.

It looks like Jarrett Allen and Lauri Markkanen will return from a layoff and that'll help them against the Nets. While Durant should be back for the Nets, the Cavs have been solid at home this season with a 5-2 ATS record. So we can see them keeping this one close.

Stadium Record

The Cavaliers have covered in 5 of their last 7 home games. Brooklyn has struggled at this venue with a 3-12 record.

Head to Head Record

Brooklyn won the first meeting of the season 109-99 and have won 6 of the last 10 meetings.

Best Bet

Cleveland Cavaliers +7.5 = $1.96

Memphis Grizzlies (8-8) at Utah Jazz (11-5)

The Grizzlies come off a shockingly bad 138-95 defeat against the T-Wolves and they'll be looking to respond with a much-improved performance against the Jazz. Ja Morant was kept to just 11 points and as a team, they shot just 34%. But if they're going to bounce back, Morant is the key to their success. He's averaging 25 points per game this season and Memphis will look to get the ball into his hands at every opportunity.

Utah have won 3 straight games and come off a comfortable win over the Kings. Donovan Mitchell led the scoring with 26 points and Gobert dominated the paint with 21 pts / 14 rebounds. There will be personal motivation for Mike Conley as he meets his former team in this matchup. He played 12 years with the Grizzlies earlier in his NBA career.

Ultimately, you'd have to be a brave punter to back the Grizzlies after a 43 point defeat. A trip to Utah is also not an easy one as they've lost 6 of their last 7 at this venue. Utah has covered in 5 of their last 7 at home against Memphis and that trend looks to continue.

Stadium Record

The Jazz are 10-3 at home in their last 13. The Grizzlies hold a poor 1-6 record in Utah.

Head to Head Record

Utah have dominated the Grizzlies since 2019 with a 9-1 record.

Best Bet

Utah Jazz -9.5 = $1.87
