Euro 2020 | Semi-Finals | England vs Denmark | BlueBet

Euro 2020: England ($1.66) vs Denmark ($5.50) – Thursday 8th July @5am

England, carrying the weight of a nation as the host country, will face Denmark in the semi-finals at 5am Thursday at Wembley.

Not since 1996 have the Three Lions reached the penultimate stage of the tournament, and manager Gareth Southgate will be looking to avenge the demons of Euro ’96 when he missed that penalty that ultimately cost England the semi-final against Germany.

England are riding a wave of momentum having swept aside both Germany and Ukraine on their way to the semi-finals at Euro 2020, and they are still yet to concede a goal all tournament.

Denmark have overcome near-tragedy following Christian Eriksen’s on-pitch collapse in the opening game to fly through the knockout stages of the tournament after impressive wins against Wales and Czech Republic.

The winner books their place in the final at Wembley on Monday morning to face Italy, who held their nerve to beat Spain in a penalty shootout.

Can Denmark stun the home nation and continue their fairy tale? Or will decades of English heartache and deprivation of success finally be over?

Team News

Jadon Sancho will hope to keep his place in the England starting line-up following his impressive display last match against Ukraine. Though, Bukayo Saka and Jack Grealish are pushing for selection.

Denmark’s heroic captain Simon Kjaer and striker Yussuf Poulsen are both shaking off niggling injuries but will both look to start.

Players to Watch

Harry Kane: England’s captain has really hit the ground running now. After a slow start in the group stage, Kane has now scored three goals in his last two games. Though, the ultimate team man, there’s no doubt he will have his eyes on the Golden Boot and he will fancy his chances of bagging against Denmark.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: The centre-midfielder was overcome with emotion after Denmark defeated Czech Republic in the quarter-final. He will need to replicate that passionate performance against more talented opposition, man-for-man. He’s in for a monumental battle against Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips, but Hojbjerg is more than capable of winning that fight.

Key Stats
