Harry Kane - $7.00
After not only bagging the English Premier League’s golden boot award with 23 goals this season, Harry Kane also topped off a disappointing team finish for Tottenham with the Playmaker of the Year award for his 14 assists. After that kind of return in a team that finished the season 7th, it’s no wonder Kane starts the tournament as the red hot favourite for the top goalscorer award. Despite facing Croatia first up, the team who knocked them out of the World Cup semi-finals in 2018, you can expect Kane to be on the scoresheet early in the tournament, especially given his record as England's all-time top penalty scorer. Kane will have the support of some of the most exciting English talent seen in decades, with the likes of Foden, Grealish and Mount potentially playing in behind Kane, it’s a given he’ll be finding the back of the net. The final game of the group stages sees England play the out of form Czech Republic, meaning Kane could go into the Round of 16, should England proceed, ahead of the goalscoring pack.
Romelu Lukaku - $8.00
Belgium are the number one ranked team in the World leading into the Euros, and it is no surprise why. They completed qualifying undefeated, winning all ten matches. After leading the line for Inter Milan to their first Serie A title in 11 years, Romelu Lukaku comes into the Euros high on form and full of confidence. He bagged 24 goals in the regular Serie A season, second only to Cristiano Ronaldo. With the talent of Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard playing in behind Romelu Lukaku, he is well backed to battle it out with Harry Kane for the golden boot award. After finishing second behind Kane in the 2018 World Cup golden boot race and being knocked out in the semis of the same competition, Lukaku will look to go one better, individually, but also helping Belgium to make their first final at a major tournament.
Cristiano Ronaldo - $10.00
Despite Portugal being current holders of both the Euro 2016 and Nations League 2019, they won’t be favourites for this year's tournament and will find it difficult to get out of the group of death, with current and past World Cup winners France and Germany. That being said, Cristiano Ronaldo is a seasoned campaigner in big tournaments. The 36 year old will look to add to his tally of 103 goals for Portugal, six behind the record for goals scored in men's international football, held by Iran's Ali Daei. Given Portugal face Hungary in the first round, there’s every chance Cristiano Ronaldo will start the tournament off with a bang, just like he did in the 2018 World Cup, scoring a hat-trick in the first match against rivals Spain. If he does, he might be hard to catch, if Portugal are able to beat Germany, expect them to progress on the back of goals from Ronaldo.
Kylian Mbappe - $10.00
The Frenchmen has an impressive list of accolades for a 22 year old, having won the 2018 World Cup with France, along with three Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France titles and three consecutive seasons as Ligue 1 top scorer, for club Paris Saint-Germain. With France fielding arguably a stronger side for the Euros, it’s fair to say Mbappe will be on the scoresheet, the question is, how often? The addition of Karim Benzema as an out and out striker could be beneficial for Mbappe, with defenders dragged away by Benzema’s dangerous runs, leaving Mbappe with more time and space. His blistering pace will be hard for any defender to handle, so any extra space could be costly for defenders. A group of death may make it difficult, however, expect to see a few goals from the young star against Hungary.
Karim Benzema - $12.00
Karim Benzema's six-year exile from the France national team has ended with his inclusion in the squad for the Euros, and his addition will make France an even more formidable opponent. Benzema has relished the sole striker role, scoring 77 goals since the departure of Ronaldo from Madrid. He finished with 23 goals this year, second only behind Lionel Messi. Having not scored for the National team since 2014, it may take the striker a little time to find the back of the net. However, with the support of Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann out wide, expect the target man to bang a few away as France go deep into the tournament.
Memphis Depay - $17.00
Netherlands Coach Frank de Boer hasn’t had the same impact on the Oranje as his predecessor, Ronald Koeman, who took the Netherlands to the inaugural Nation’s League Final. De Boer’s and the Netherlands’ hopes will rest heavily with their talisman Depay, who has netted 20 goals for Lyon this season, to finish second in the Ligue 1 golden boot. With Ajax’s in-form midfielder Davy Klaassen in behind him, Depay can take his impressive form for Lyon into the Euros. A first round matchup against Ukraine sees the potential of Depay to get off to a cracking start, boosting his chances of starting strongly in the race for the golden boot. With Austria and newcomers North Macedonia their next two games, don’t be surprised to see Depay with a few goals to his name come the round of 16.
Outsiders
Antoine Griezmann - $21.00
On the back of a stellar World Cup in 2018, which included lifting the trophy for France and securing third place in the golden boot in the process, Antoine Griezmann secured a long-awaited move to FC Barcelona. Since arriving though, it hasn’t been smooth sailing, only securing the Copa del Rey this season, with only 13 goals to his name. Despite a lack of goals for FC Barcelona, Griezmann is always a goal scoring threat. Having won the Euro 2016 golden boot in a losing team, it’s fair to say at $21.00, Griezmann offers some juicy odds.
Robert Lewandowski - $26.00
Robert Lewandowski is Poland’s great hope, shown by the fact he scored 41 goals in the Bundesliga this season and in the process, he broke the Bundesliga record of 40 goals in a season previously held by Gerd Müller which had stood since the 1971-72 season. He hasn’t got the depth of creative and attacking support like he does at Bayern Munich, but as an out-and-out striker, he can find the goal with the slightest chance. Poland play Slovakia in their first match, and a good start could set Lewandowski and Poland on a scoring run that sees them get into the Round of 16, over the likes of Sweden and Spain.
Long Shot
Lorenzo Insigne - $34.00
Italy have come out of the shadows from their failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, as the dark horses for the Euros, with an unbeaten run of 25 matches. Roberto Mancini has marshalled a resolute defence, reminiscent of the Italy of old, allowing the attacking prowess of Lorenzo Insigne to flourish. Fresh from scoring 19 goals in the Serie A, where he Captained Napoli to a 5th place finish this season, Insigne will be threatening the goal regularly in Group A. Far from easybeats, Italy’s relatively weaker draw sees them up against the likes of Turkey, Switzerland and Wales, where you can expect Insigne to do damage both inside and outside the 18 yd box. If Italy go deep in the tournament, you can expect Insigne to be on the scoresheet, and at $34.00, Insigne looks an enticing betting proposition.
