NBA Tips & Betting Preview | Thursday 18 March

Milwaukee Bucks (25-14) at Philadelphia 76ers (28-12)

The Bucks come into this important clash against the 76ers with 4 straight wins and 9 wins in their last 10. As usual, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the key man for the Bucks and he's recorded an incredible 3 straight triple-doubles. With no Joel Embiid on the court for the home team, this should be another favourable matchup for the Greek Freak.

Similarly, the 76ers are in winning form at the moment with 6 victories on the trot and they'll coming off a home back to back after beating the Knicks 99-96. As mentioned, there's still no Embiid as he's sidelined with injury. So the 76ers defence will need to lock down on Giannis.

This should be a really tough matchup between two of the best teams in the East. As such, we do like the Over as both sides should be playing at a fast pace. The Over also has a 4-1 record in the 76ers last 5 home games and the Bucks are 5-2 against the Over on the road.

Stadium Record

The 76ers are 8-1 in their last 9 home games. Milwaukee holds a 7-3 record at this venue in the last 10 meetings.

Head to Head Record

This is the first meeting of the season. Since 2018, the Bucks have won 6 of the 10 meetings, including a 119-98 victory in the last clash.

Best Bet

Over 236 pts $1.91

Charlotte Hornets (20-18) at Denver Nuggets (23-16)

The Hornets will be looking for their 5th straight win as they begin a 5 game road-trip in Denver. Terry Rozier led the way in their latest 122-116 win over the Kings and he has another favourable matchup against the Nuggets on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Denver has won 6 of their last 7 games and now sit 5th in the West standings. They'll be coming off a comfortable 121-106 win over the Pacers as Jokic led the charge with 32 pts. Porter and Barton also scored 20 pts apiece. Which will likely be the key against the Hornets defence as they've struggled with power/small forwards.

While the Hornets are in good form at the moment, they have played a few struggling teams lately and beating the Nuggets in Denver isn't an easy task at all. The Hornets also have a poor ATS (1-4) at this venue. So we'll be taking the home team here.

Stadium Record

The Nuggets have won 5 of their last 7 home games. Meanwhile, Charlotte is 1-4 in the last 5 meetings.

Head to Head Record

Denver has won 6 of the last 10 meetings and also beat the Hornets last year, 114-112 in Charlotte.

Best Bet

Nuggets -5.5 $1.80

Los Angeles Clippers (26-15) at Dallas Mavericks (20-18)

After a poor stretch of form in road games, the Clippers came alive against the Mavericks last time out as they recorded a 109-99 victory. Kawhi Leonard scored 22 pts in 40 minutes and the Clippers were good defensively as they kept Dallas under 100 pts. So the gameplan likely won't change as they face Dallas once again.

Due to their recent home defeat against the Clippers, the Mavericks have fallen back to 8th in the West and they'll be out for revenge on Thursday. In the defeat, the likes of Doncic and Porzingis both scored over 20 pts. But they couldn't get the same production from Finney-Smith (8 pts) and Richardson (6 pts). So they'll need a better overall team effort to get the job done this time.

After the two sides just played at this venue and totalled 208 pts, the Under does look the best bet. It's now saluted in 4 of the Mavericks last 5 games and it's 5-2 in the Clippers last 7 road games.

Stadium Record

The Clippers have won 6 of the last 7 in Dallas. The Mavericks are 4-1 in their last 5 home games.

Head to Head Record

Just recently, the Clippers beat the Mavericks 109-99 at this venue and have won 7 of the last 10.

Best Bet

Under 227 pts $1.87
