NBA May 28 Playoffs Betting Tips – Pacers at Knicks (Game 4)

2024/25 NBA East Finals - Knicks at Pacers (Game 4)

The Knicks are back in the NBA East finals with a crucial Game 3 comeback, getting the win after falling behind by 20. Can they even up the series at 2-2 before heading home? Here is a preview of the Game 4 matchup on Wednesday morning.

Knicks at Pacers (IND leads series 2-1)

The New York Knicks are turning into comeback kings this postseason, and Game 3 against the Pacers was just the latest chapter in that story. For the third time in these playoffs, the Knicks erased a 20-point deficit on the road and came out with the win — this time pulling off a gritty 106-100 victory in Indianapolis.

It was a game full of momentum swings, but when it mattered most, New York stepped up big. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with a monster performance, putting up 24 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. What really stood out was his fourth quarter — he dropped 20 of his 24 points in the final frame, completely taking over down the stretch.

Jalen Brunson didn’t have his most efficient night, shooting just 33.3% from the field, but he still managed 23 points and continues to be the heart of this Knicks offence, averaging 34 points per game for the series.

Josh Hart also gave the team a huge boost off the bench in Game 3, bringing energy and hustle that swung the momentum in New York’s favour. He’s expected to play a big role again in Game 4, whether he starts or comes off the bench. From a betting perspective, the Knicks have been a solid team to back on the road, going 7-1 against the spread in their last eight away games.

However, their track record specifically in Indiana hasn’t been great — they’re just 2-5 straight up in their last seven games there. That said, New York has embraced the underdog role all season and postseason long, going 6-2 straight up in their last eight games when getting points.

With the series tightening and momentum now slightly swinging toward the Knicks after that Game 3 win, Game 4 becomes a pivotal matchup. Indiana will be desperate to protect home court, but New York has proven it’s more than capable of weathering the storm and stealing big wins on the road.

If Towns can stay hot, Brunson finds his shooting rhythm, and Hart continues to make those gritty plays, don’t be surprised if the Knicks head back to the Garden with the series tied — and some more betting tickets cashed.

The Pacers head into Game 4 looking to bounce back after letting Game 3 slip through their fingers. Despite holding a 20-point lead, they couldn’t close it out at home, falling 106-100 to the Knicks. Tyrese Haliburton had a decent stat line with 20 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds while shooting nearly 47% from the floor, and Myles Turner added 19 points of his own on an efficient 50% shooting.

But it wasn’t enough as Indiana managed just 42 points in the second half. Haliburton took the blame for the collapse, and you can bet he’ll be motivated to respond in Game 4. He’s been the engine of Indiana’s high-speed offence, averaging 21.7 points and 9.7 assists in the series, and they’ll need every bit of that to even things up.

From a betting standpoint, Indiana’s still in a good spot. They’ve covered in 4 of their last 5 games and are 8-2 straight up over their last 10. Even more impressive, they’ve been nearly unbeatable at home lately, going 16-4 in their last 20 in Indy. They also hold a 5-2 straight-up record in their last seven home games against the Knicks, so history’s on their side here.

Plus, they’ve been strong in-conference, going 6-2 ATS in their last 8 against Eastern opponents. With Game 4 back in front of their home crowd, and Haliburton fired up to make a statement, Indiana should come out swinging — and bettors shouldn’t count them out just yet.

Stadium Record

Indiana are 5-2 at home against the Knicks. New York have lost 5 of their last 7 at this venue.

Head to Head Record

In the last 10 meetings, the Pacers lead 6-4 and hold a 2-1 series lead.

Best Bet

The Pacers are favourites in Game 4 and should be fired up on their home court after letting a huge lead slip away in Game 3. But I think the head to head is a tough bet as this should be another close game. So I prefer backing the points and the Under. The Under is now 4-2 in the Pacers last 6 games and Game 3 only totalled 206 pts.

Under 220.5 pts = $1.87

Same Game Multi

Nesmith has grabbed 6+ boards in 4 straight home playoff games against the Knicks. Nembhard has a 13-1 record of getting4+ assists in the Pacers last 14 playoff home games.

Under 220.5 pts / Nembhard 4+ assists / Nesmith 5+ rebounds = $4.70
