BLUEY’S BEST BETS – 28/09/2019
ROSEHILL – RACE 4 1500m 14:15 AEST
GEM SONG ($2.60)
Strong return first up, finishing just 2L behind the supremely talented Arcadia Queen who blew the field away in the Theo Marks. Looks a cut above here, lining up against what looks to be a very weak Group 2 field. Should improve second up and will appreciate the extra distance. Looks a great chance.
ROSEHILL – RACE 5 1400m 14:50 AEST
ENTICING STAR ($2.70)
WA spruik horse who has scored 8 wins from just 10 career starts. Her only two losses came at the end of last prep in high quality fields where she still ran well. First up here against an okay field but looks to have far more upside than any of these runners. Expecting a strong return here.
MORNINGTON – RACE 7 2400m 15:45 AEST
DOUGLAS MACARTHUR ($3.40)
Interesting overseas runner who has only had the two starts in Australia. Was coming off a 700-day spell first up and managed to put in a solid run behind Guizot over 1600m. Second up at 2040m last start and improved to fourth. Should appreciate the rise to 2400m. Should turn into a genuine staying affair and he can capitalise.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
ROSEHILL – RACE 7 1400m 16:05 AEST
CASTELVECCHIO ($11)
Was a drifting favourite in his first up run and wound up at the tail of the field, which proved an impossible feat to overcome. Still managed to rattle home and pick up fourth in an eye-catching run once he got warm. Extremely talented horse who has succeeded at this level before. Unsuited by the pace, but willing to risk at the price.
