BLUEY’S BEST BETS – 16/11/2019
SANDOWN – RACE 4 1500m 14:10 AEDT
WIDGEE TURF ($2.60)
Talented warhorse who has put together a terrific career thus far. Has been racing in top form this prep, including two Group 1 starts where he ran well. Last start carried 61kg against the in-form Iconoclasm and was beaten by the narrowest of margins. Should find this grade much easier and take some stopping.
SANDOWN – RACE 7 1600m 16:00 AEDT
AFFAIR TO REMEMBER ($3.50)
Affair to Remember has been nothing but a bad luck story her past two starts but we are sticking with her here. She was backed in from $8.50-$3.50 last start at Flemington and was badly blocked in the straight before rattling home for third. Start prior to that was a similar watch. Punters may be looking to forget her but I think it will be a case of “third time’s the charm” for Affair to Remember.
NEWCASTLE – RACE 7 1300m 17:00 AEDT
OUTRAGEOUS ($3.10)
Decent prep during Autumn but prior to last start hadn’t scored a win since March. The whispers of “non-winner” were quickly put to bed last start however as the Hawkes trained runner put in an impressive on-pace display at Rosehill to score by nearly a length and a half. They’ll be looking for more of the same here and with barrier 2 he should get a gun run into the race.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
SANDOWN – RACE 10 1800m 17:55 AEDT
SAVAHEAT ($10)
Favourite Setting Sail looks hard to beat but if there’s a chink in the imports armour, perhaps the in-form Savaheat can take advantage. Was good first up at Moe scoring by a narrow margin before heading to Flemington on Oaks Day and lowering the colours of the highly touted Impi in a barnstorming display. Jump up in class here but is in-form and with the right run can put in another strong run.
