- MYSTERY SHOT ($3.10)
Has been on the up this prep after scoring a terrific win at Ballarat, where he displayed strength through the line, which suggested further upside. He then went to Caulfield and showed improvement again, winning narrowly over Splendoronthegrass. Should be rock hard fit now and can take further improvement again.
- TRUMBULL ($3.50)
His slow starts were quickly becoming extremely costly this prep, robbing him of a number of wins. He was able to rectify that last start and was able to sit just behind the speed, eventually putting pay to his rivals down the straight. Has always had the talent and if he can jump with them again here, he’ll prove tough to beat once again.
- JUNGLE EDGE ($3.90)
The famous wet tracker gets the nod here for me with showery conditions predicted for Caulfield tomorrow. Was excellent when winning first up at Morphettville at Group 3 level. Then went to the Group 1 Goodwood and finished last. Bounced back a little bit at Randwick behind Classique Legend, which is promising for this race. The wetter the better here.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- INANUP ($7)
Resumed last start over 1100m behind the talented Adelong at Rosehill and was able to run a very strong race, finishing just 2 lengths behind in second place. Should take great improvement from that run and looks right there on class. Favourite Kordia has looked good but this is harder again, so I’m happy to take the value in an improving Inanup here.
