Ciaron Maher and David Eustace are on a hot streak at the moment and they have Etana in this race.
She has won twice from two starts and looks like she might have a bit of ability.
Teo Nugent is the stable apprentice so he will know the horse well and he claims three kilos which brings her weight down to 58.5kg. It’s a very open race but Etana looks the most promising.
Matt Cumani’s Miss Daiquiri looks to be the next best. She was very impressive winning her first start by 4.2 lengths, but she has drawn an awkward barrier of 11 and that could cause some problems for her.
Tip: Etana each way @ $5.50 / $2.15
Declarationofheart from the Anthony Freedman yard returns to the races here and will hopefully kick off his autumn campaign with a win.
He won over this track and distance first-up last preparation and will likely have come back into work a better horse than last time around.
He had drawn a sticky barrier, but he gets in well at the weights and has a terrific rider on board.
Tip: Declarationofheart to win @ $3.70
Peter and Paul Snowden have Tchaikovsky in this race who has strong claims.
The blinkers are going on for the first time and he is dropping right down in grade from his last couple of campaigns.
If they rate this colt high enough to run him in the Golden Rose and Sires Produce, then dare say they have a nice opinion of him.
They will be looking for him to get a nice win and get his confidence back up to tackle some nicer races deeper into the Autumn.
