Bluey’s Best Racing Bets – Wednesday 19 December

Racing Betting Guide Wednesday, December 19

Caulfield R1

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace team have a big opinion of second-starter Royal Performance and he was good at Hamilton for his first start over a distance well short of what he is bred to be his best.

The step up to 1440m will be ideal, he has drawn well, and Mark Zahra takes the ride.

The current favourite, Oneira, was the short-priced favourite last time out and had every chance but didn’t look to run out a strong 1400m. It did do a bit of work in the early stages of the race but if it couldn’t run out the distance last time, but it’s hard to see it running it out this time when there’s an extra 40m added.

Tip: Royal Performance each way @ $3.40.

Caulfield R7

Savvy Belle didn’t fire in two starts last preparation, but she is back for the summer and trialled up very well beating Heir to The Throne who won first-up over 1300m.

She doesn’t have much first-up form however all her first-up runs have been over 1000-1200m which is proven to be too sharp for her.

Mick Huglin has done a great job with this mare since she came into his care and she looks to be a good chance in a very open race on Wednesday.

Tip: Savvy Belle each way @ $6.50.

Wyong R4

Team Hawkes are presenting first-starter Taken Everything in this 1000m maiden, and it looks to be a smart filly. It showed great speed and ability at its official trial at Rosehill and is the main chance in this race. Only knock is racing experience but as a three-year-old, she should have had plenty of education by now.

Godolphin’s Décor ran third behind Taken Everything at her last official trial and also looks to have ability but doesn’t quite match up to the Hawkes filly.

Tip: Taken Everything win
