Our best bet for Friday's NRL Round 23 clash between the Sydney Roosters and Canterbury Bulldogs is the Roosters to Win / Each Team Under 26.5 / Nawaqanitawase to Score Same Game Multi at $6.25, with the Bulldogs holding opponents to 22 points or less in eight of their last nine and five of the last seven meetings between these sides decided by 1-12 points.
Two of the NRL's in-form teams meet at Allianz Stadium on Friday night, with the Sydney Roosters hosting the Canterbury Bulldogs in Round 23.
Sydney Roosters vs Canterbury Bulldogs
The Roosters are red-hot, having won six in a row and most recently putting 82 points on the Cowboys. They sit second overall and are well-poised for a top-two finish heading into playoff footy next month.
For Canterbury, they're also in strong form, having won three straight and six of their last seven, ending the Storm's season last round with a 36-22 victory.
Leg 1 - Roosters to Win
This is a clash of styles, with the Roosters bringing attacking flair and the Bulldogs stoic defence.
It should make for an intriguing affair, but one that the Roosters should prevail in. They've shown an ability to win these tricky match ups this season and just seem to be hitting their stride now.
Leg 2 - Each Team Under 26.5
Expect a slight come-down from the high of last week for the Roosters. Those kind of scorelines are an anomaly. Their preceding four matches were all relatively tight, scrappy victories, which is how this clash should lean as well.
The Bulldogs have built their season on defence, which has been at the cost of their attack. They should limit Sydney's scoring opportunities, but don't expect them to cross over many times themselves either.
Leg 3 - Mark Nawaqanitawase to Score
Nawaqanitawase went through a dry spell from Rounds 17 to 21, but got back on the scoreboard big time last week with a hattrick against the Cowboys.
He's now on 15 tries from 15 matches, and is as good a chance as any at scoring against the Bulldogs.
Same Game Multi
Roosters Win / Each Team Under 26.5 / Nawaqanitawase to Score = $6.25
Value Bet
Plenty of money will be heading towards the Roosters 13+ this week after what they did to the Cowboys.
However, the Bulldogs have kept their opponents to 22 points or less in eight of their last nine matches. Also, five of the last seven meetings between these two sides have had a 1-12 margin.
The Roosters should get up, but it'll be tighter than many are expecting.
