Sunday NBA Tips – Magic Cash In on Missing Nuggets

Another nine-game slate awaits on Sunday, led by a cross-conference clash in Florida between the Magic and Nuggets, while the Cavaliers head to Houston in another exciting matchup.

Denver Nuggets @ Orlando Magic

These two met just 10 days ago, with the Nuggets prevailing in a high-scoring affair led by Jokic and Murray.

This time around, however, Denver will be without Cam Johnson, leaving them three starters down against a Magic side looking to bounce back from a shock loss to the Hornets.

LEG 1 - Anthony Black 15+ Points

Black has taken his game to another level this season, particularly of late, and has benefited most from the absence of Suggs and Franz.

He’s averaging 14.4 points per game this season, but with Suggs and Franz out that jumps to 21.4 points, clearing 15+ in all five of those games and hitting 20+ in four.

LEG 2 - Wendell Carter Jr 10+ Points

The Nuggets have conceded points to centres at a rate 14% above league average over the last month, making them one of the easier teams for bigs to score against.

Wendell Carter Jr is averaging 15.3 points across his last seven games, hitting double figures in six of those while shooting 44% from three.

LEG 3 - Tyus Jones 5+ Points

Suggs remains doubtful, which should see Tyus Jones start once again. The veteran has started Orlando’s last five games, averaging 8.2 points and clearing 5+ in all five.

If Suggs is declared fit, remove Jones from this bet, but it looks likely he’ll remain sidelined for at least one more game.

VALUE BET

Wendell Carter 2+ 3PM @ $2.45

As noted above, Denver is one of the easier teams for bigs to score against, with much of the damage coming from beyond the arc.

The Nuggets concede three-pointers to centres at a rate 51% above league average over the past month, and Carter is more than capable of stretching the floor.

While he’s only knocked down two triples once in his last four games, he’s averaging 1.7 made threes across his last seven outings, including drilling four against Denver just 10 days ago.
