The Patriots are leading the AFC East once again and face the struggling the Jets in Friday's NFL primetime matchup. Can the Pats make it 8 straight wins? Here are my SGM tips for this Week 11 matchup.
New York Jets (2-7) at New England Patriots (8-2)
It's another failed season for the Jets at 2-7. The offence is struggling to get anything going with Justin Fields at QB. They rank dead last for passing yards per game and have scored just 21.7 ppg. The defence is also struggling to stop the run and have allowed 26.8 ppg. Despite that, they have their last 2 games against the Bengals and Browns, but the Patriots at home will be pose a different challenge.
Just like the old days with Tom Brady under centre, the Pats are back atop the AFC East with an impressive 7 game winning streak. They come off a huge road win over the Bucs 28-23 and Drake Maye is on fire. He's tossed 12 touchdowns in 5 games and is in the MVP conversation. The defence is also playing at a high level. They rank 1st in the NFL for rushing yards allowed and have given up just under 20 pts per game (6th in the league). Mike Vrabel is leading the way and loving life back as a Patriot.
Leg #1 - Over 40.5
First up, this matchup should be a high scoring one on a short week. The Pats have gone Over in 9 of their last 11 home games and should be able to score plenty of points against this Jets defence. In their last 3 home games, they've scored over 30 pts in 2 of 3. The Jets are actually scoring points, 39 against the Bengals and 27 against the Browns. Of course, the Pats defence will be tougher at home. But the Over has saluted in 6 of their last 6 road games and 12-4 in their last 16 overall.
Leg #2 - Drake Maye 250+ Passing Yards
The Jets have traded a few key pieces on defence lately and that should see Maye take full advantage. He's coming off 3 straight games over 250 passing yards and that includes 270 last week on the road against a tough Bucs defence. 250+ looks like a good mark.
Leg #3 - TreVeyon Henderson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Henderson rattled off 2 cracking rushing TD's last week, easily his best performance of his rookie season. He took one to the house from 55 yards in the 3rd quarter and followed that up with a 69 yard TD in the 4th. With no Rhamondre Stevenson (injured), Henderson should get plenty of chances to show off his speed again. He also faces a Jets run defence that is pretty mediocre.
Same Game Multi
Over 40.5 / Drake Maye 250+ Passing Yards / TreVeyon Henderson Anytime Touchdown Scorer = $4.10
Value Leg - Stefon Diggs Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Diggs is going for 4 straight games with a TD and this should be another great matchup. The Jets traded cornerback Sauce Gardner recently so Diggs will get an easier matchup. He's also forming a nice connection with Maye.
