The Week 5 action ends in Jacksonville with both sides looking to make it 3 straight wins.
Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1)
It's been a slow start for the Chiefs in 2025, but last week showed a lot of positive signs going forward. Patrick Mahomes was electric in the Chiefs 37-20 drubbing of the Ravens. He tossed 4 touchdown passes (season high) and spread the ball around. One of the keys was having WR Xavier Worthy back and healthy (5 catches, 83 yards). On defence, they rattled Lamar with 3 sacks and a pick as well.
The Jags are quietly 3-1 and tied with the Colts in the AFC South. So a win over the Chiefs would be massive for their playoff hopes. They come an impressive road win in San Fran, beating the 49ers 26-21. Travis Etienne Jr. was all over the 49ers defence with 124 rushing yards and a score.
Leg #1 - Kansas City Chiefs -2.5
Looking at the Chiefs record in Jacksonville, it's hard to bet against them - especially after last week's performance. Overall, they've covered the line 5 of their last 6 at this venue against the Jags and also have a perfect 8-0 record at any venue. Playing on the road shouldn't be an issue, the Chiefs are 12-4 on the road in their last 16.
Leg #2 - Under 46.5
The trends also lean towards the Under. It's 5-1 in the Jags last 6 home games and they've allowed just 10 pts in both home games this season. Of course, the Chiefs will pose a different challenge but outside of last week, Kansas City haven't been as dominant this season. They rank middle of the road (14th) for points scored. The Under also has a positive 7-2 record when the Chiefs play a team from the AFC South.
Leg #3 - Kansas City Chiefs 1-10
I don't see the Jags getting blown away. They're coming off a big win over the 49ers on the road and Lawrence should be able to keep them in the game. They've also been strong on their home turf this season with 2 wins from 2, which should give them confidence in keeping the margin close. The 1-10 margin has saluted in the last 3 meetings between these two sides as well.
