NBA May 27 Playoffs Betting Tips – Thunder at Timberwolves (Game 4)

2024/25 NBA West Finals - Thunder at Timberwolves (Game 4)

The Timberwolves are back into the West Finals after a massive 143-101 result in Game 3. Can they tie the series with another win on Tuesday in Game 4? Here is a preview of the huge matchup in Minnesota.

Thunder at Timberwolves (OKC leads series 2-1)

The Thunder came into this series fired up and have controlled the first two games with solid team scoring and tough defence. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been the star, putting up around 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists per game, leading the offence and making plays to keep the Timberwolves on their toes. Meanwhile, Chet Holmgren has been a beast inside with nearly 18 points, 8 rebounds, and almost 3 blocks per game, mixing his size and skill to disrupt Minnesota’s game on both ends.

But despite their strong start, Oklahoma City hasn’t been great against the spread lately—they’re 4-8 ATS in their last 12 games and especially struggling on the road, where they’re 0-6 ATS. They’ve also had trouble against Minnesota specifically, going just 2-4 ATS and 7-13 straight up in their last 20 matchups. So while the Thunder look good on paper and are sitting 14-4 straight up in their last 18 games overall, the betting trends suggest this series could still be tricky.

The Timberwolves came into the playoffs as underdogs but have really shown some grit and determination. After blowing out the Thunder in Game 3 with a 143-101 win at home, their confidence is through the roof heading into the next game. Anthony Edwards has been on fire, averaging nearly 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, and he took over in that last matchup, making life tough for Oklahoma City’s defence.

Karl-Anthony Towns has been solid inside too, pulling down double-digit rebounds and knocking down shots, while Rudy Gobert has been the defensive backbone with his blocks and rim protection. The Wolves will need to keep their defence sharp and control the pace to keep the Thunder’s shooters in check. They’ve been strong lately, winning 15 of their last 20 games overall and an impressive 10 of 11 at home, so they’re definitely looking to keep that momentum going.

Stadium Record

Head to Head Record

In the last 10 meetings, the Thunder lead 6-4.

Best Bet

Despite a 42 point margin in Game 3, the Timberwolves are still underdogs on their home court and I think they can produce another win. The Thunder are showing some concerning trends on the road as they've not covered the line in 6 straight games and they're now just 4-8 ATS in their last 12. The Timberwolves love playing at home, they've won 10 of their last 11 and they should take Game 4 if they stick to a similar gameplan.

Minnesota Timberwolves +3.5 = $1.89

Edwards scored 30 pts in 30 mins in Game 3, so this chances of getting 30 or more pts offers nice value. But I like his rebounding and assist game in Game 4. He's dished out 6 assists in back to back games and has beaten 5+ assists in 80% of his last 5 games. He's also been dominanting the defensive rebounds for the Timberwolves with 9 boards in 3 straight games.

Timberwolves +3.5 / Edwards 8+ rebounds / Edwards 5+ assists = $3.80
