NBA Tips & Betting Preview | Thursday 23 March

New York Knicks (42-31) at Miami Heat (39-34)

The Knicks had their 3-game winning streak snapped by the Timberwolves on Tuesday in a high scoring 140-134 defeat. However, Julius Randle comes off a 57-point performance despite the loss as he hit 8 threes. So he'll look to continue the form against the Heat. They have beaten the Heat in both meetings this season by an exact margin of 2 pts in each. Randle was again dominant in their last meeting with 43 pts so you have to like his chances of 30+ pts in Thursday's matchup.

The Heat are back at home after a 1-1 road trip as they beat the Pistons by 12 but lost to the Bulls by 14. Miami will be looking for their 4th win on the trot at home and Jimmy Butler will be one of the keys. He's coming off a double-double against the Pistons and scored 33 pts against the Knicks in March. They could get some good news on the injury front as Kyle Lowry is expected to return from injury. But he'll likely get a minute limit if he plays.

This should be another close affair between these two teams after 2 pt margins in each matchup this season. The Knicks have also covered in 6 of their last 8 road games. Meanwhile, the Heat are just 3-9 ATS in their last 12 at home.

Stadium Record

Miami hold a 4-1 record in their last 5 home games. New York has lost 6 of their last 8 at this venue.

Head to Head Record

The Heat are 6-4 in the last 10 but the Knicks are 2-0 this season.

Best Bet

New York Knicks +2.0 = $1.91

Golden State Warriors (37-36) at Dallas Mavericks (36-36)

The Warriors finally ended their road losing streak as they crushed the Rockets on Tuesday 121-108. Curry and Thompson both combined for 59 pts in the victory. Curry has now scored 30+ in 3 of his last 4 games and also put up 32 pts in the last meeting at this venue. In injury news, Draymond Green and Looney are both questionable so that will be something to monitor.

The Mavs just fell short against the Grizz on Tuesday in the 112-108 result. They were without Doncic once again but Irving top-scored with 28 pts. Both stars are questionable for this matchup so their bench rotation will likely have to step up again. Jaden Hardy and Josh Green would get more playing time as a result.

It's hard to trust the Mavs at the moment with Doncic / Irving under injury clouds. So we like the Warriors to cover. They're 5-2 against the Mavs in the last 7 meetings as well.

Stadium Record

Dallas are 5-5 in their last 10 at home. Golden State are just 1-5 in their last 6 at this venue.

Head to Head Record

The Warriors are 6-4 in the last 10 meetings since 2022.

Best Bet

Golden State Warriors -1.5 = $1.91

Phoenix Suns (38-33) at Los Angeles Lakers (35-37)

The Suns are struggling at the moment after just 1 win in their last 5 games. However, Devin Booker was back to his best in Monday's 124-120 defeat against the Thunder as he finished with 46 pts. He's now scored 30 or more pts in the Suns last 5 road games and gets another good matchup against LA. They will be missing Durant and Ayton due to injury so Craig / Biyombo will get the start.

The Lakers bounced back from a disappointing loss agianst the Mavs with a 6 pt win over the Magic on Monday. Austin Reaves had one of his best outings of the season with 35 pts. LeBron is still sidelined with an injury and Davis is questionable with a foot issue. So the Lakers will continue to rely on their rotation to get the job done. They get a good matchup against the Suns who've given up 120.8 pts in their last 5 games.

There probably won't be a lot of defence in this matchup so we like the Over. The Suns are 7-1 against the Over in their last 8 and also 4-1 on the road.

Stadium Record

Los Angeles are 6-4 in their last 10 at home. Phoenix has won 4 of their last 5 at this venue.

Head to Head Record

The Suns have owned the Lakers since 2021 with a 9-1 record.

Best Bet

Over 227.5 = $1.91
