- BACCHANALIA ($3.50)
Bacchanalia is third up today and looking to build on a strong prep so far, which has included a fourth place & a solid win. His win came last start at Canterbury on a bottomless track, where he sat behind the leaders and proved too strong late. He seems to pick up a step on rain affected tracks and despite the weather in Sydney improving, the track will still likely be affected. He looks a solid bet here.
FLEMINGTON RACE 3 – 13:45 AEDT
- DANCE TO DUBAI ($3.20)
Dance To Dubai looks a great chance here after a dominant display at Moonee Valley last start. She won by 2.8L but was aided by the Moonee Valley bias; she still ran very well however, so I’m not taking too much away from that run & will be looking for her to improve again here. She gets in with absolutely no weight (50kg!) after Alana Kelly’s claim, so she’ll prove very hard to run down here.
- HERMAN HESSE ($2.40)
Herman Hesse looks clearly the one to beat here for mine. The former UK galloper has had a five starts in Australia now for two wins and two placings. He seems to do his best racing after a few weeks off, so five weeks in between runs here should be perfect. He was narrowly beaten over this distance by Suppression last start, with a gap back to third. Looks hard to beat.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- CAESAR’S PALACE ($10)
Caesar’s Palace has been solid this prep, rising through the grades impressively despite only winning once at BM64 grade. Last start, he raced at BM78 grade and looked a great chance in the straight, but fell half-a-length short in the end. Goes up in class here, but the field doesn’t look much harder than what he faced last start. He’s in this with a chance again at a nice price.
