BLUEY’S BEST BETS - 02/10/2020

BLUEY’S BEST

FLEMINGTON RACE 3 – 13:15 AEST

  1. ELUSIVE EXPRESS ($3.00)

This Freedman trained mare scored an impressive win on debut, settling just behind the leaders before taking over at the 600m mark and running on strongly to score by 1.5 lengths. She was then spelled and returned at Bendigo on a Heavy track, where she again measured up, but lost by a lip. In her most recent run, she made a huge jump in class to Group 2 level and showed that she could mix it at that grade, scoring a solid third from the rear of the field. If she can settle a little closer today, she looks very hard to beat.

RANDWICK RACE 4 – 13:35 AEST

  1. KISS THE BRIDE ($4.40)

Kiss The Bride had two solid trials leading into this prep, but it still took him a couple of runs to get fully into his stride. He was solid first and second up, finishing two & one lengths away respectively, but he exploded last start when leading at Randwick, winning by almost three lengths over a similar field to this. There’s no reason why he can’t dish out similar punishment here.

RANDWICK RACE 5 – 14:10 AEST

  1. DUAIS ($4.80)

The scratching of Verry Elleegant has opened this field right up & despite Think It Over possessing strong credentials, I think Duais looks a solid bet here. The up & coming Cummings mare has had just nine career starts, but looks poised to make the next step this preparation. She returned well first up over 1500m, running home strongly to finish just 0.3L away at Newcastle. She makes the jump straight to 2000m, which should suit. She made a similar jump last prep second up to score a Group 3 victory. She can improve strongly again here.

BLUEY’S BEST VALUE

FLEMINGTON RACE 6 – 15:05 AEST

  1. VANNA GIRL ($16)

Vanna Girl resumes here today from a 126-day spell in what looks to be a very open field. She won in impressive fashion at Doomben first up last prep, so we know it’s possible for her to fly fresh. There looks to be a bit of pressure up the front here and that should suit her pattern. She has an explosive turn of foot and gets the full length of the Flemington straight to wind up. Looks like a good roughie.
