MOONEE VALLEY RACE 3 – 13:40 AEST
- GENERATION ($3.30)
Looks to be a great battle between the top two here, but I’m giving the edge to Generation, who resumed last start at Caulfield. He led the field but was no match for Ingratiating during the straight. He should derive good benefit from that run and take the next step here. The Valley will suit his racing pattern, so long as he can cross them early.
- FOUR MOVES AHEAD ($5.00)
Four Moves Ahead debuted in January this year in impressive fashion, winning by almost three lengths on rain affected ground. She followed that up with another solid win, but stepped up to Group 1 level in her following starts last prep & failed to threaten. She resumed last start at Randwick in the Group 2 Silver Shadow and seems to have returned in good shape. She over-raced throughout to finish 0.6L away and if she can settle better here she should be right in this.
MOONEE VALLEY RACE 7 – 16:10 AEST
- PINTOFF ($6.50)
Pintoff is another who will have to contend with a wide barrier, after drawing the car park here. Pintoff still has plenty of upside to come, having had just ten starts to date, which has included six wins and two places. He’s in top form at the moment and if he can contend with the barrier, then he looks like the one to beat.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- MAN OF PEACE ($34)
Zaaki resumes here and looks to be clearly on top, however, the seven-year-old gelding is certainly not unbeatable and if the rain comes, this may play against him. Man Of Peace looks well over the odds for me here, particularly with the forecast. He’s shown himself to be more than adept on rain affected ground, having scored four wins last year on Heavy tracks. His best is not up to the standard required here, but it’s not a million miles away. Can feature in this with the right run.
