- DREAM RUNNER ($3.80)
Dream Runner looks on the up for Canberra trainer Keith Dryden; he scored three impressive wins in his first preparation from just four runs, with his one failure coming on a Heavy track. He then resumed last prep and lost the ride, before being spelled again. He’s returned well this prep, but has come up on two Heavy tracks so far. Should get drier ground here and can get back to his winning ways.
- SELEQUE ($3.70)
Despite moving up in class here, Seleque looks a terrific chance here. She found one too good on the Heavy Canterbury ground last start, but still turned in a brave performance. Prior to that, she scored a nice return win at Warwick Farm. Third up today and back to drier ground should suit. She should be right there in the finish.
- SUGARTOWN ($6.00)
Sugartown looks an attractive bet here at the price; she looks like one of the main contenders to Zesty Belle, who lines up as favourite. Sugartown jumped favourite last start against Zesty Belle, with the latter running home slightly better. Sugartown was forced wide on a hot speed and had every right to fold late. She should get a much better run here and might have something extra left in the tank.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- WAR CABINET ($12)
War Cabinet exploded last start at Gosford to score an impressive 2L victory, with a further 4L back to third. He had no trouble getting through the wet and that win makes it two wins from his past three runs. Makes an obvious step up in grade here and will need to prove that last start wasn’t a fluke, but if he can repeat that, he’ll go close again here.
