- LINDHOUT ($2.30)
Lindhout looks an exciting prospect, particularly after displaying a scintillating turn of foot last start to score from the back. The 4-year-old mare settled in tenth position in a field of twelve, yet was able to rattle home to get up by two lengths. Prior to that, she’s finished close up in each of her runs. She looks very hard to beat here.
- HENSCHEL ($5.50)
Henschel was an impressive winner last start on a heavy Kembla Grange track, sitting prominently throughout and proving far too good in the straight. He’s shown in the past that when he can put it all together, he can put on a dominant display. Doesn’t seem to be many world beaters in this field and if he can replicate last start, he’ll be tough to beat.
FLEMINGTON RACE 8 – 16:15 AEST
- SWEET THOMAS ($5.50)
Veteran Sweet Thomas showed last start that he can still wind back the clock, scoring an impressive, but narrow victory over 3200m at Rosehill. He’s up in grade slightly (up from BM90 to Open), but this field doesn’t look much harder than what he faced last start. He drops back in distance to 2800m, but he should have no issues there. Looks a solid bet at the price.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- MR GEE ($19)
Mr Gee looks like a great value bet here after an impressive last start victory. Before last run, he failed completely in the two starts, dropping out to finish eleven lengths away in both runs. That included a Group 1 at Eagle Farm however, and he rebounded nicely when dropping in class last start. He should appreciate this class again and looks over the odds.
