AFL Round 13

Port Adelaide vs Geelong Cats, Adelaide Oval, June 10th 7.50pm

Big Thursday night clash between two sides fighting it out for a top four spot. The Cats need to get a win away from Geelong as it looks like they will be on the road for some weeks as COVID is still an issue in Melbourne. This game will be hot from the outset with both teams playing a very attacking brand of football. The Cats have the power forward line led by Hawks and Cameron and if their smaller players get involved in the game early, they can pinch this. The Power's last outing was against Fremantle where they smashed them all over the park and they will look to exploit the Cats with their running, led by Amon and Wines through the middle. This game will be won from the middle and there are talks that Dangerfield is a sneaky chance. Watch last minute team news. Tipping an upset here and going for the Cats by 15+

Head 2 Head

Power have won two of the last three games with the Cats

Best bet
Cats win $2

Sydney Swans vs Hawthorn Hawks, SCG, June 11th 1.45pm

Was looking through past fixtures of the Swans of season 2021 and they have only ever beat a side by more than 39 points, when they smashed the Tigers by 59 at the MCG. This week they will add their second big win of season 2021. I was wrong last weekend and the Saints stood up and showed they had some fighting spirit. If it wasn’t for some inaccurate goal kicking, I think they would have beaten the Swans. Could be the last time big Buddy plays against his old side, so expect a big performance from the Budwa. Swans will be too strong for the Hawks all around the ground. Hawthorn are in a rebuilding stage and this game could get ugly as the Swans march towards a September position. Swans by 40+

Swans 40+ $2.25

Fremantle Dockers vs Gold Coast Suns, Optus Stadium June 11th 4.35pm

Fremantle put in a good performance last weekend against the Dogs but it has come at a cost with four injuries to key players late in the game. Fyfe, Darcy and Cox are out. It hurts this side as that is the spine the Dockers play with. I think this is a big danger game for them with the Suns coming off the week off fresh from a road trip to WA and Matt Rowell is back. The Suns haven’t been overly bad over the past couple of weeks and could really cause an upset in the West. The Dockers will need a huge performance from Walters up forward along with Brayshaw and Cerra out of the midfield. Expect a hard tag on Brayshaw. I am tipping the Suns in a close one and the line is a great bet.

Head 2 Head

Suns have won two of the last three games vs the Dockers

Best bet
Suns win $1.90

St Kilda Saints vs Adelaide Crows, Cairns Stadium, June 11th, 7.40pm

The Brad Crouch cup will be played this weekend in Cairns of all places and boy does it look a cracker. Both teams coming off close loses last weekend will look to show some sort of spirit in this one. Brad Crouch comes up against his old side for the first time, so expect some ill feeling towards him early on in the game. I expect Sloane to go to him and put some pressure on him early. The Crows had themselves to blame last weekend with some poor decisions going forward but they will regroup and go again this weekend. I am tipping a Crows win and I think it will be by a lot. Big Tex Walker to get off the chain and kick a bag.

Head 2 Head

Crows have won two of the last three games vs the Saints

Best bet
Crows win $1.95

West Coast Eagles vs Richmond Tigers, Optus Stadium, June 12th 6.40pm

Huge game in the West this weekend against two sides who are 7th and 8th position on the ladder. The Eagles had a good away victory last weekend against the Blues in a game they went in as underdogs with the players they had out but they rallied and played a good brand of footy. The younger Eagles really led the way and then they had Flyin Ryan and Nic Nat commanding the game from the get go. The Tigers had a great win against a Bombers side that threw the kitchen sink at them on the weekend. Dusty and Bolton stepped up and led the side to a famous win. The Eagles get back Kennedy and Allen which will bolster their attacking weapons but this game will be hot in the middle. I am tipping the Tigers to run over the Eagles with their leg speed. Can’t wait for the match up of Martin and Yeo great Sunday viewing. Tigers by 5 Points.

Head 2 Head

Tigers have won two of the last three games vs the Eagles

Best Bet
Tigers win $1.65

Melbourne Demons vs Collingwood Magpies, SCG, June 13th 3.20pm

The annual Queens birthday match has been moved from the MCG to the SCG because of the COVID disaster in Melbourne but this game will be extra special and emotional with Nathan Buckley coaching his last game as Collingwood coach. Given his all for the club and will go down as one of the best to ever play for the Pies. You would expect the Pies to give a huge yelp at the Demons this weekend and try and give Bucks one last hoorah. They played very good last weekend against the Crows and should take that confidence into this game. In saying that, the Demons were on another level last weekend against the Lions and they are the team to beat in season 2021. They play for each other and look unstoppable coming out of the back line. Demons by 10+

Head 2 Head

Pies have won two of the last three games vs the Demons

Best Bet
Pies -29.5 $1.90
