Zing had two trials leading into her first up return last start, which seemed to do the trick, as she raced extremely well and was unlucky to finish closer. She’s second up here today and usually performs better with a couple of runs under her belt. Expecting an improved performance here today and looks a great bet at the price.
- STOCKMAN ($4.40)
In my view, this race looks to be between the top two here. Parry Sound has been racing well this prep, but lacks the ability to win. Stockman on the other hand, relished the step up to 2400m last start, finishing second with a gap back to third. Albeit in an easier class, this run was very impressive and he looks a great chance in this race at the same distance.
FLEMINGTON RACE 7 – 15:25 AEST
- REUBER ($3.80)
Reuber has been a model of consistency so far this prep. Apart from his first up run, and his race at Bendigo where badly held up, he’s finished no worse than 2.3L away in each of his starts. He’s been knocking on the door in his past couple in particular and is unlucky not to have won. Sticks at the same distance as his past 2 here today and a third time might prove the charm.

FLEMINGTON RACE 3 – 12:50 AEST
- MR TIPLA ($14)
Large field here and Chief Altony comes up a short-priced favourite after his four length romp at Ballarat last start. He’s up in class here, so I can’t justify the short quote. Mr Tipla on the other hand has been racing well without winning this prep, finishing third twice from three starts. Last start, he went to 1600m - a distance further than his usual. He ran solidly, finishing just under three lengths away but gets back to 1400m here, which he should prefer. He looks great value here.
