- CONVERGE ($2.30)
Converge can get punters off to a winning start on Day 2 of the Championships. He finished just over a length away from Shaquero first up in the Group 3 Pago Pago, before running second again at Group 3 level again the following start. Third up here today and back in class. Should be very hard to beat here.
- ISOTOPE ($3.50)
This looks to be a great race on paper, with Isotope, Wild Ruler and September Run all looking like great chances. I’m with Isotope, who should be sandwiched between the prominent Wild Ruler and backmarker September Run. Isotope returned impressively first up, running down Odeum on Golden Slipper day. He’ll be ready to go for this as well, and looks to get a great run in transit.
- STARRY LEGEND ($3.30)
Starry Legend was passed fit at the barriers last start, but that didn’t stop him from putting on another impressive performance, scoring by 1.3 lengths. That backed up his scintillating first up victory at Sandown, where he scored by 3.8 lengths. A lot of these look to have upside, but he in particular looks to have a lot of talent.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- WITCHFULTHINKING ($10)
This race is wide open after the scratching of South Parade, leaving Spring Choice a vulnerable $5.50 favourite. Amongst the value is Witchfulthinking, who has put in two solid runs to begin her prep. She led into the wind first up and was found wanting, but rebounded with a solid performance last start. She should be primed for this third up and is in the mix here.
