4. GILDED CROWN ($2.90)
Gilded Crown looks the one to beat in this fairly weak Maiden for mine. He was only average on debut at Swan Hill, but took great improvement in his second up run at Gunnedah, sitting midfield and battling on encouragingly to score a narrow second. This race looks well within his grasp and he can certainly notch victory here.
3. THE FELON ($3.70)
Has begun this prep well, finishing just 0.1L away upon resumption at Cranbourne before heading to Flemington and contesting a BM70 race. He reared at the start before working very hard to cross and lead. He was softened up by the time he entered the straight but still managed to hold on for a game fourth, just 2.5L back. Finds an easier field here today and can rebound.
COFFS HARBOUR RACE 9 – 17:30 AEDT
3. STONECOLD FLEX ($3.30)
Was ridden upside down first up in a strange change of tactics, but was still able to charge home to miss by only half a length. That put the writing on the wall for his second up victory, returning to his favoured prominent position and winning impressively by 1.3L over Strawb. Faces a similar field again here today and can repeat the same treatment from last start. Just needs to hold his form.

COFFS HARBOUR RACE 2 – 13:15 AEDT
6. DR DEMON ($13)
Has been good since returning from a freshen, scoring two wins and running well in his other two races. Last start at Yarra Glen, he went forward to sit second outside the leader and by the 400m mark had hit the front. He battled away in the straight bravely to score an impressive win over Manning Road. If he can repeat last start’s effort, he can go close here at odds.
