Talented Waller runner who is resuming in a much weaker field here today. He’s finished second to Peltzer twice and has finished within 4L of Rothfire at Group 1 level. He has a tendency to be slowly away in his runs, but even with that considered, he still has a huge class edge here. With even luck should be winning this.
- NARVAEZ ($2.25)
Has begun this prep well, finishing just 0.1L away upon resumption at Cranbourne before heading to Flemington and contesting a BM70 race. He reared at the start before working very hard to cross and lead. He was softened up by the time he entered the straight but still managed to hold on for a game fourth, just 2.5L back. Finds an easier field here today and can rebound.
WARWICK FARM RACE 7 – 17:40 AEDT
- ULYSSES ($4.40)
Was ridden upside down first up in a strange change of tactics, but was still able to charge home to miss by only half a length. That put the writing on the wall for his second up victory, returning to his favoured prominent position and winning impressively by 1.3L over Strawb. Faces a similar field again here today and can repeat the same treatment from last start. Just needs to hold his form.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- SECRET WAY ($29)
Has been good since returning from a freshen, scoring two wins and running well in his other two races. Last start at Yarra Glen, he went forward to sit second outside the leader and by the 400m mark had hit the front. He battled away in the straight bravely to score an impressive win over Manning Road. If he can repeat last start’s effort, he can go close here at odds.
